THAT'S A TERM THAT REALLY IS.

AN EVOLUTION OF HOW WE THINK OF WATER INSTEAD OF THINKING AS AN ENDLESS COMMODITY, WE THINK OF IT AS SOMETHING THAT.

NEEDS TO BE BETTER UTILIZED, AND THE NATURAL SYSTEM WORKS BEST IN CLEANING AND PROVIDING THE BEST WATER.

SO WHEN THINKING OF TURKEY CREEK AND UNDER CREATING WETLANDS, OR IN THIS CASE, RECREATING WETLANDS THAT WERE THERE BEFORE THE CANALS WERE BUILT AND ALLOWING AN UNDOING, SOME OF THE DAMAGE CREATED, SPECIFICALLY DAMS WHEN WE HAVE AT TURKEY CREEK AND THE CANALS SLOW WATER TO THE POINT OF STAGNATION, THEY HEAT IT UP ARTIFICIALLY AND UNNATURALLY AND ALLOW FOR ALGAE BLOOMS, WHEREAS A RIVER IS THE REVERSE OF ALL OF THOSE.

SO IT'S NOT IN OUR PLAN TO TAKE DOWN THE DAM, BUT THAT IS WHAT THEY'RE DOING IN THE OKLAHOMA RIVER.

THEY'RE CONSIDERING IT THEY WERE TAKING.

BUT IN GENERAL, A WETLAND? LET ME SEE HERE.

AN ACRE OF WETLAND CAN HOLD UP TO ONE POINT FIVE MILLION GALLONS OF RAIN, AND A SINGLE MATURE TREE WITH A 30 FOOT CROWN CAN KEEP 4600 GALLONS OF WATER OUT OF THE SEWER EACH YEAR. WELL, CLEARLY THOSE TWO THINGS ALONE.

TRYING TO CREATE MORE WETLANDS AND MANAGE SPECIFICALLY ONE OF THE THINGS I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THAT'S IN OUR PLAN ALREADY.

WAS TO DO AWAY WITH RETENTION PONDS AND HAVE CREATED WETLANDS AND RAIN GARDENS INSTEAD.

SO I WAS PLEASED TO SEE THAT THE CITY DOES HAVE PROVISIONS IN THERE FOR INCENTIVES TO

KEEP WATER OUT OF THE STORM.

SYSTEM, THE STORM WATER SYSTEM, BUT WE NEED TO HAVE IT BE BETTER.

IDENTIFIED AS A GREEN SPACE THAT IS MEANT TO BE HABITAT AND CLEAN THE WATER RATHER THAN JUST HAVE IT SIT THERE IN A IN A POND, IN A STAGNANT SITUATION WHERE AGAIN YOU HAVE MOSQUITOES, ALGAE BLOOMS AN ARTIFICIALLY HEATED WATER.

SO THAT'S THAT'S PRETTY MUCH LET'S SEE.

INTEGRATED WATER MANAGEMENT WASTEWATER IS RECYCLED TO BECOME DRINKING WATER, SO GRAY WATER COULD BE REUSED ON SITE, BUT BROWN WATER WOULD BE CLEANED AND PUT BACK INTO THE SYSTEM. STORMWATER IS ALLOWED TO SOAK INTO THE GROUND, SUPPORTING HEALTHY RIVER FLOWS THAT PROVIDE DRINKING WATER AND ASSIMILATE WASTE, SO NITROGEN AND OTHER THINGS BAD FOR THE LAGOON.

IN A LIVING SYSTEM SUCH AS A RIVER, THE THE PLANTS WOULD FILTER AND CLEAN THAT UP BEFORE IT GOT TO THE LAGOON.

AND AS FAR AS EFFICIENCY, DRINKING WATER CONSIDERED EFFICIENCY MEASURES, I HAD SEEN THAT ONE OF THE THINGS WAS SUGGESTED WAS ON THE CITY WEBSITE IS INSULATING THE HOT WATER PIPES, WHICH ISN'T REALLY PRACTICAL AFTER CONSTRUCTION.

BUT AFTER CONSTRUCTION, WHAT IS AN IDEA OF CONSERVING HOT WATER OR WATER IS HAVING A LITTLE PUMP INSTALLED.

IT'S PRE CONSTRUCTION.

IT'S $40 TO HAVE HAVE THE HOT WATER CIRCULATE, HAVE A LITTLE PUMP INSTALLED THAT HAS THE HOT WATER CIRCULATE AND YOU CAN HAVE A LITTLE TIMER LIKE YOU HAVE FOR YOUR CHRISTMAS LIGHTS THAT COULD TURN IT ON AND OFF.

YOU KNOW, START THE CIRCULATION AN HOUR BEFORE YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING TO NEED HOT WATER AT THAT FURTHEST SHOWER OR WHATEVER, AND THEN HAVE IT SET TO TURN OFF AFTER THAT, YOU KNOW, TWO HOURS OR THREE HOURS, OR HOWEVER LONG YOU'RE HOME IN THE MORNING BEFORE EVERYBODY HEADS OUT THE DOOR.

AND THAT POST CONSTRUCTION IS ABOUT 200.

BUT BEFORE CONSTRUCTION AT CONSTRUCTION, THEY CAN DO IT FOR ABOUT 40 BUCKS, AND THAT WOULD BE PRACTICAL.

SO MY HIGHLY MY HIGH LABOR PRIORITIES WERE TO RETROFIT EXISTING RETENTION PONDS WITH NATIVE PLANTS.
